The Bloody Tinth is meat and potatoes - the best tunes from the Irish tradition cooked over an open American fire. The five piece band is every bit as fierce as its namesake, the 10th Volunteer Regiment that united Cincinnati's Irish immigrants in defense of the Union. In the tradition of The Chieftains, Black 47 and The Waterboys, the Bloody Tinth is a young band with unapologetic energyand a rock candor that serves as the foundation for their unique collection of songs.
The band launched on St.Paddy's Day (when else?) 2009 and in a few short months were already playing out of town shows and packing local pubs. Traditional Irish songs set to a rock beat, virtuosic fiddle/mandolin tunes and hits by bands like Radiohead, U2, and the Beatles are a part of the band's set. The Bloody Tinth also covers solo artists that make up the cream of the crop from both sides of the ocean; Johnny Cash, Steve Earle and Van Morrison.
Members include: Ryan Gorsuch (guitar and vocals), Nick Lorenz (bass), Joe Kendall (guitars), Michael Sams (drumset) and Rachel Schott (violin and vocals). Visit the official Bloody Tinth website.
